You can check out the readings and prep questions for this Sunday’s classes here 🙂
And here are a few things worth taking the time to think about:
The Steadfast Love of the Lord – Instrumental
(Listen) I love the simplicity of these instrumental covers. Zeno makes really great fingerstyle guitar covers of classic hymns and contemporary worship songs. Well worth a listen!
Faithful
(Watch) “The [Hebrew] word emet is a common word used to describe God in the Bible. It can be translated as “faithfulness” or “truth.” So when the authors say that God is “full of emet,” they are saying that he is trustworthy and faithful—we can trust him. But trusting isn’t always an easy thing. In this video, we look at why and we can trust that God is full of emet.”
Series on Daniel
(Read) I would encourage you to work through this ongoing series on the book of Daniel by my close friend Joel Hawthorne. There are lots of really important issues that he deals with, that are worth getting your head around!
Why we should embrace trials
(Read) This article looks at the example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who embraced a huge trial that is recorded in Daniel chapter 3. “Rather than fearing trials, becoming anxious, and forgetting God, we should look at them as another opportunity to become more like Christ. Experiencing a trial doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you. It’s quite the opposite. It means He wants to make you even more like Jesus. And understand this: God will never bring us a trial that He doesn’t walk alongside us in.”
“You are going to suffer so horribly.”
(Watch) You’ll find Todd Friel is an… ‘enthusiastic’ person. He certainly has a particular way of saying things! Unfortunately, he can be a little political at times (which I’d prefer he wasn’t), but this video is great at getting to the point on a REALLY important issue we need to grasp. The world is slowly turning against Christians. Are we ready to cling to Christ? Or will be bow to the pressure?
